Stickers

So, it's pretty clear one of my new weaknesses is stickers. Needless to say I couldn't resist picking up some new ones to add to the collection today.

I've been eager to add some Hello Kitty goodness to the planner stash for some time, so couldn't resist these.

There were two themes available so of course I did what every good hoarder does and chose both! I love the red ones, I think they're really funky but I also think the pink ones are really sweet.

I also indulged in some cat stickers as I was really needing a cat fix today. In other news I'm also temporarily prohibited from browsing the pet finder website as I start to suggest we should adopt every cat on there. The occasional puppy too.

Inspired by Hetty, I picked out some hedgehog stickers too. These will be great for a lovely fall spread once I get my Filofax. I'm thinking I could match them with some orange and red tape.

A Few Goodies

So a quick trip out resulted in a few new goodies today. As you know I love a good flag and couldn't resist these. They've got handy tags 'to do', 'study' and 'get this'. The pegs were fabulously quirky and as they were all in a three for two offer I got some people shaped paperclips whilst I was at it. They seemed just the right amount of quirky to go with everything else I'd picked up,

In addition to clips and pegs I couldn't resist this little sweetie. She's a iwako rubber and we've named her Hetty. For such a small eraser she's pretty pricey but to be perfectly honest, she's so cute I probably won't use her anyway.

So it would seem my little stash of Filofax supplies is really building up, it's probably a good thing there are only 3 and a half weeks left until Christmas now! I'm starting to get really excited!

Stationery Friday

Mr S has come up with a new tradition: Stationery Friday. This involved another trip to my favourite store, Paperchase. I was really spoilt for choice in there today and didn't know what to pick. In the end we settled on some washi tapes and stickers as you can never have enough of those.

I couldn't get enough of close ups today either, there were so many cute purchases! I love this tape, it oddly reminds me of dreams. Maybe that's what the range is called? Either way I love the pastel colours and the sweet little cartoon characters.

We picked out these as well, mainly I have to admit for the orange cat tape, although I'm in love with washi in general at the moment.

I love these stickers, they have a wonderful vintage feel to them. I feel like they should be used with lace doilies and things with tea cups printed on them. I particularly liked the cherries but then I can seldom resist a good cherry print anyway!

These too have that vintage vibe, I may have to plan an afternoon tea and have that theme for a week in my planner. It's even giving me the urge to make cupcakes!

Mr S picked out the rockets which are pretty funky anyway but I love the fact that the rockets are being driven by cats. I'm definitely a cat lady, and since ours sadly passed away the house feels lacking, but it's too soon to get another cat yet (not that I'm not getting the urge anyway)

I love these sweet little stickers too. I'd love an orange cat so these put a smile on my face and I think they'll work well with the cat themed washi tape. I've started to try and think about themes to put together rather than just selecting random things because I like them.

New Pens!!

Now these little beauties have been much anticipated and desired since I first clocked them on Pinterest a little while ago. I've always been a big fan of the frixion pen and as you know am a big fan of pens in general. I was delighted when I clocked these on Amazon and was jumping around the living room when they arrived.

The colours are rather gorgeous and I don't think I can wait for the Filofax to start using these, Christmas is still just too far away! Added with the fact that I'm clearly also massively impatient, waiting just does not seem an option for pens as fabulous as these.

If you're thinking of ordering these, be prepared to wait. Whilst they arrived exactly when the supplier said they would, I had initially thought this might be an overestimation as they were coming from Japan. It took about two weeks for them to arrive so I'm just putting it out there: be patient!

I also realised I still had these the other day. It's a little slice of nostalgia for me as I remember getting one in my stocking when I was about 7 or so and was delighted when I found them in the pound shop. They make pretty patterns when you spin them. Not as elegant as a spirograph but still plenty of fun. I feel a crafty afternoon with my niece and nephew coming on with these!

They're fabulous aren't they? Spinning tops with felt pens inside them. It's the simple things eh?

Forgot I'd Got These

Another pleasant surprise today, I really must have a proper sort out over the holidays. I found a hardly used notebook in a fabulous design tucked away in a bag, and my note to self pad which I had been looking everywhere for.

I love the note to self pad for my to-do list and generally find it invaluable. It's just the right size too to have to hand so I can make a note of anything that needs to be added to my list. I'm definitely a 'write it down' kinda girl.

The note book has a million possible uses, I need to just settle on one as after post it notes, notebooks are probably my number one purchase. I usually opt to use them for creative writing however they're also good for journalling as well as planning (I've lost count of the number of books I've got with half planned holidays in the back of them, which is pretty odd as we've been on those holidays so I have no idea where the other half of the plan is in which case.)

Yippee

Yet more pink and girly fabulousness has found its way into my not so little stack of supplies today. They're really pretty and surprisingly dainty looking whilst also appearing to be made of quite strong material, although the real test will be actually using them.

Another little delight from a sleepless night. I'd forgotten I'd ordered these but then as they came from Japan that's not surprising. In fact they shipped really quickly so if you're into that sort of thing I'd definitely recommend giving Kawaii Japan a look on Amazon.

These are hole reinforcers and will be perfect for Valentine's week. They're really lovely and I think as long as they're durable I'll definitely be ordering these again, that's for sure. I really can't wait to get decorating!

Post It Notes Galore

Well I promised you more sneak peeks into my stash and it would be rude of me not to oblige. I thought I'd divulge a little more of my post it note obsession. I'm totally loving knock-knock post its which never fail to make me smile and sometimes my friends too.

I love a good post it note as a reminder when there's something important to do and the knock-knock ones make much more fun reminders. I always have a stash of A5 post-its too as I can never resist a good list and these are perfect for it.

There's also a good stash of flags in various colours and sizes as you can never have too many flags. The stars too were just too cheerful to resist, I love their sunshiney shades particularly in these cold and rainy wintery months when summer seems little more than a distant memory.

Spoilt? Moi?

Now I may or may not have been a spoilt little starlet today as Mr S treated me whilst we were out shopping today. A quick trip to good old reliable Paperchase and I had some much coveted additions to my ever growing stack of supplies. Their Christmas range was just too irresistible and as such I've got some lush new bits for my bag, although perhaps that had soon better be box?

I absolutely fell in love with these vintage themed stickers. I particularly like the deer and the postboxes. They slightly remind me of Cath Kidston, I think particularly as some of the images are similar to the illustrations in my Christmas planner.

The paperclip love continues with these reindeer shaped beauties. Their quirkiness is fantastic and the range of colours means they could go with any colour scheme which is also a bonus. I like them so much I suspect I shall be using them even in August.

Continuing with my recent love of food with faces, how could I resist these brussell sprouts? The fact that they have faces pretty much made my week. I've even threatened to find a sprout shaped decoration to put on our tree this year. That suggestion however, went down like a lead balloon.

These festive little guys made me smile, especially the penguin. We all need to smile sometimes and these seem like a pretty good excuse if you ask me. I'm looking forward to sticking these all over my planner before I randomly stick them all over the fridge or something... hurry up Christmas!

New Goodies

Now one of the wonderful albeit dangerous things about Amazon, is that there are so many wonderful things available in one place at the click of a button. Cue a little insomnia and the result is... you guessed it, more supplies for my Filofax. Thankfully at this point there are only 33 days or 4 Saturdays left before Christmas and getting my Filofax.

I wanted some ring reinforcers as I'm a touch clumsy and wanted to minimize the number of accidents I have with pages, Naturally I chose colourful ones as I love all things bright and colourful and these seemed a fantastic way to brighten up any pages. I've also been oggling some cute ones on etsy but I think I'll wait until after Christmas and maybe make a dent in the supply of things I've already begun to hoard.

Whilst I was shopping I couldn't resist these Mickey Mouse stickers. Mr S and I love a trip to Disney, so there is always ample opportunity to use these in the dates ahead. After all we're going to be seeing in the New Year there and then we're back there for Mr S' birthday shortly after.

Crayola twistables are fantastic as the colours are lovely and they're bright enough to be seen without overpowering or bleeding through pages. I love that you don't need to sharpen them. I was really upset when I lost my last set to my niece and nephew so treated myself to some of my own.

I also picked these up for the bargain price of £1.50 or something. I was a little disappointed as they're actually tiny but then at that price what did I expect? Something bizarre also happened when I photographed them as the picture looks really vibrant and fun, however in reality the colours were actually quite dark but they'll still be perfect for prettying up the Filofax.

My Christmas Planner

So this little bad boy is my bible every Christmas. I've had it for about three years now and I could not live without it. This little beauty is from Cath Kidston and has great little sections for everything you could need to plan your Christmas. There's even little stickers so you can label the dividers.

The pages are beautifully presented and have lots of space for notes. I also love that I can use downloadables and it doesn't matter that I don't have a filofax punch yet.

I love that there's a conversion chart for cooking and measuring. I'm absolutely hopeless with maths so this comes in super useful especially when I'm baking Christmas goodies. As if that wasn't enough, it's got cute illustrations and borders.

It's also useful because I have the memory of fish which means I make great use of the gift list as I can never remember what I got everyone last year.

Thursday 20 November 2014

Shhh!!

Soooooooo,,, I may have been a very naughty little starlet today! I nipped into town and spotted at a few bits and pieces that will be great little additions to my stationery collection. By a few, I of course mean I bought probably more than I needed but there were so many cute bits how could I resist?

I got some fantastic bits from the good old pound shop. I've got a real thing for paper clips at the moment so I jumped at the opportunity to stock up on some cute shaped ones. I particularly like the fish shaped ones.

I couldn't resist adding to the washi tape stash and picked up some fab ones from The Works and Wilkinsons. Now I've just got to find somewhere to keep them all, At the moment they're still in their packets in a big bag currently known as the filofax supplies.

I also picked up these sweet little pads from the pound store. I couldn't choose between the two so I got both as they will go quite nicely with most themes, plus I just love a good list so special paper for it is always a bonus!

I also stocked up on stickers as I've been threatening to stick them everywhere in my impatience. Although I got some cute tatty teddy ones in the pound shop I also picked up these as they're basic and versatile. In addition to that they were really easy on the pocket at 50p a packet. What's not to love about that?

One thing is for sure, Christmas needs to hurry up and get here so I can get my organiser and get decorating, otherwise Mr S is going to need to get me a work room for Christmas rather than just a filofax! Not that I would complain about having a whole work room instead of just a work space of course.

Feeling Festive

We're feeling festive here, snuggled up with a big mug of tea and a nest of craft materials. I could quite easily turn this into some sort of fort and never come out, it's been blissful. Today's crafty produce was a nice stack of cards which are now all written out and addressed up ready to send come December.

Here are a few of my offerings although I feel I must apologise, the green ink I used on some of them does not seem to photograph particularly well which is a shame as it looks gorgeous on the cards!

I couldn't resist stamping the envelopes too, I think these will look very festive and cheerful dropping through the door. I certainly know I wouldn't mind finding one of these on my door mat this Christmas!

I've got some alphabet stamps Mr S bought me from good old Paperchase and they've formed the staple part of my card making this season. I love how they look on the brown card and as I've grown in confidence I've begun playing with colour as you can see. I added snow flakes to these just to break them up a little bit. The white ink is a Dovecraft stamp pad. It's lovely and lasted ages, the only downside is that the ink is a bit of a challenge to clean off my stamps when I'm finished but otherwise a fab product.

My absolute favourites are the simple black ones. I'm not too sure why, I'm just really drawn to them. The red and green came out great too, although they don't seem to photograph as well. I ended up with a few blots around some of the letters but I like to think they just add to the rustic handmade charm of the cards.

I made some Yule cards too as some of my friends celebrate Yule not Christmas, and these too have turned out pretty sweet. I experimented a little with the snow stamp and tried silver snowflakes to see what effect that would create but personally I prefer the white snowflakes. Still looks pretty sweet though.

Now just to address these bad boys up too and then 'patiently' wait another week and a half to post them. Maybe I'll pop them in the post on the 30th, I mean that'll be ok. Right?

Surprises

Look what I found!

I'm going to be in need of these over the next few days as I have assignments coming out of my ears. I absolutely love these and suspect every procrastinator needs one. Now, you may be thinking am I really that disorganized that I need 4? Possibly, however the reality is a little more amusing than that,

After I insisted that I absolutely had to have one, I could not live without it Mr S treated me to one for Christmas last year but had a little bit of an accident you see. He ordered one, they charged him for one yet when he went to wrap them he discovered they'd sent him four instead! We couldn't work out if he'd accidentally ordered a box of pens rather than a pen so here you have it I have four pens, perfect for the procrastinator I am.

Epic Win!

Having a little sort out today and found these hiding in an old folder. Epic win!

Yes that's right. The stationary nut has stationary themed stickers AND they have faces. I can scarcely contain my excitement because they're that awesome. These shall most definitely adorn the pages of everything I can justify putting them on and some things I can't.

I love that they have faces and even better than that, the face is different depending on which colour the pencil is. Awesome!

I must say, starting this blog has certainly taught me some things about myself. For example I would normally profess to being freaked out by things with faces but there are at least three different sets of stickers I've shared with you over the past fortnight where I've squealed in delight over their creepy little faces. How funny. It's interesting what you find out about yourself when you put pen to paper.

The Range

So I've been looking around at dividers for the much anticipated Filofax and I've been really struggling to find something I like that comes in the quantity I want. Then Pinterest came to my rescue once again, and I have decided to make my own. So of course today has been spent shopping for the perfect paper to make my dividers with, cue these little beauties!

I couldn't resist a few spots and stripes, my planner would not be complete without polka dots but the real beauty was the one on the left. Oh yes. Roald Dahl themed scrapbook paper. I kid you not, this is possibly the happiest I've ever been stationary shopping. Mr S was cracking up. There was no way I was leaving without one and had decided which papers would be used for which dividers before Mr S had even got me home.

I can't wait to share the finished product with you assuming all goes well and they turn out how I hope. It's something I really should wait until I've actually got my planner to make, but as you've already gathered I'm an impatient little starlet and I don't think I can wait!

Sticker Stash

Well in searching for my Christmas card making supplies I discovered a whole host of yummy stickers which have of course moved into the Filofax bag. Some of them I think will get used for scrap booking instead as I think they're much better suited to that but mostly they'll be used for the much anticipated Filofax!

There appear to be lots of butterflies in there but there were some other real gems too.

I was amazed to discover I'd got some more Paperchase stickers stashed away. These are mostly lovey dovey ones although I particularly like the tea cups and sheep. The cups have faces which is just awesome, even better that they look like my favourite beverage... tea!

I had quite a few sheets of these and they're wonderfully funky! These will be perfect for those summer pages and maybe even some funky 70s themed pages. I particularly love the camper vans. Oh to have a camper van and spend my days inside it making things and drinking tea. That would be just the most immense bliss.

Whoops!

Now this beautiful people is why being a stationary addict and rocking a large bag is not a good idea! I have a beautiful polka dot messenger bag from Cath Kidston with co-ordinating pencil cases and pen, but I lost my ID tag to its depths. The result was all the pens I thought I had lost were actually just lost in the bottom of my bag! I shall be in trouble, although on the plus side (or is that negative side, I'm not so sure) I won't need to get any pens for work for a little while.

Yep, these beauties were just floating around my bag, probably feeling unloved! You can see what I mean about my gelstick pens. I could not function without them, I have a bunch in my pencil case too. To be fair I don't think you can ever have too many pens... It's just not possible!

Perhaps it's time to shop for a slightly smaller bag so I don't neglect my pens in the future.

W H Smith

Now, here's somewhere else I don't shop often and I have no idea why. I picked up some real cute bits and pieces in here but I am definitely going to need a bigger desk at this rate!

Now as a self confessed post-it addict I found these sandwich notes just jumped into my basket. I couldn't stop them, they just climbed right on in. I'm looking forward to passing someone a note sandwich!

So, speaking of things jumping into baskets here are my new desk buddies. A pink bunny which is in fact a stapler not to mention super cute! There's a dinosaur to hold memos and pens, naturally my sandwich notes may have to end up in there to complete the cycle of awesome. Finally a ladybird pencil sharpener. It was just to awesome to leave behind, Yes I promise I am a grown up!

Pens

So who doesn't love a good pen? I'm frequently being told I don't actually need to buy any more pens but that's advice I find difficult to agree with, I personally think there's no such thing as too many pens. In fact I struggle to comprehend why anyone asks to borrow a pen. I understand we live in a digital age but how can people just not own pens?

Here's a little peek of some of my favourites, a combination of stationary stash and the necessities that inhabit my bag.

I was delighted to discover I had not one but two packs of these stashed away. These gelsticks are the bread and butter of my pencil case. I sincerely believe I could not be without them! They write so smoothly and the colours are always aesthetically pleasing too. I particularly like using them for note-taking on coloured paper!

These double-ended pens are lovely to write with too. The nibs are a bit soft as they're technically felt tips but the fine liner end is lovely to write with and I'm always happy. They're great for putting reminders on post-it notes and what have you as it makes them really stand out.

Highlighters is another thing I go through loads of and always need a stash tucked away. These little sweeties are shaped like teddy bears, I picked them up in my local pound shop. I'll probably keep them in my planner once I receive it. I can't imagine they'll last me all too long but they were just too cute to pass up!

Now speaking of pound shop, I've picked up some bargains in there over the last few weeks, much to Mr S's exasperation. In honesty, the pound shop is probably one of my favourite places to shop for stationary as sometimes you get some real wonderful finds in there. I love my frixion so the opportunity to pick up a couple of fantoms wasn't going to be missed even remotely!

They quite often have these in there, again very difficult to refuse as although they write beautifully and last longer than your average gel pen they still wear down pretty quickly!

I've also had a couple of treats from the lovely Mr S himself. He knew I wouldn't be able to resist a Hello Kitty 4 colour biro, after all its cute and practical. Happy little starlet here! He also picked me up a new frixion as he knew I needed one.

So I am of course completely spoilt for choice regarding pens today folks. How is a girl to choose which one to write with first?
